NHC Graduates take to the Main Stage in the Grand National

We are delighted to see numerous jockeys and trainers, who have completed qualifications through the National Horseracing College, take to the world stage in the prestigious Grand National at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 5th April 2025.
Beau Morgan rides TWIG for Ben Pauling
Beau, 20, achieved a distinction in his Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship (Racing) End Point Assessment in February 2024 and has ridden 33 winners from 239 starts to date. He rides in the Grand National for the first time in a bid to claim the £1million race.
Charlie Deutsch rides ROYALE PAGAILLE for Venetia Williams
Charlie is no stranger to the Grand National fences and has his fifth ride in the race this year, his first being in 2017, where he finished a respectable 10th. Charlie completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Work-Based Racehorse Care through the NHC in 2014.
Co-trainers Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero will saddle IROKO in the £1million race. Both Oliver and Josh, who joined forces in 2022 to co-train at Stockton Hall Farm in Malpas, Cheshire, have strong connections to the National Horseracing College (NHC).
Oliver Greenall joined the NHC as a trustee in 2014, and Josh Guerriero completed the 12-week residential Foundation Course at the college in 2003.
Since graduating, Josh has enjoyed a wide range of careers in the horseracing industry, including gaining valuable experience with Phillip Hobbs and Victor Dartnall, before becoming Assistant Trainer to Dan Skelton for three years. Oliver and Josh have known each other for many years, having ridden as amateur jockeys on the racecourse and the point-to-point circuit and gaining plenty of success along the way. Both have experience over the Grand National fences, with Josh winning the 2008 Fox Hunters’ Chase partnering Christy Beamish, where Oliver Greenall finished a respectable fourth.
The very best of luck to all runners, riders and connections.
