We love receiving success stories about our graduates and this story is definitely a great achievement and a name to look out for in the future…Henry Platt graduated from the National Horseracing College (formally Northern Racing College) in the summer of 2016. Having barely any equine experience when he arrived at the college, Henry proved that his ability and determination meant that he could pursue a career he had always dreamed of… being a jump jockey!
After graduating, Henry was put on work placement with trainer Tom George as a valued member of their team before moving to Jonjo O’Neill’s yard in the Cotswolds to complete his Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Having gained masses of experience from both yards, Henry took out his Amateur Licence and is now based with successful trainer Emma Lavelle Racing LTD. He has now had 7 rides and will learn something new each time every time.
Keep you’re eyes peeled at Sandown this afternoon (Saturday 7 December 2019) when he has a ride on Fortunate George in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle at Sandown – good luck Henry, we’ll all be rooting for you!
