Finalists Tyla and Emma head to the 2025 Godolphin Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards

We’re delighted to share the exciting news that two former National Horseracing College learners have been selected as finalists in the Godolphin Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards 2025, a prestigious annual awards ceremony dedicated to racing staff.
In the Newcomer Awards category, Tyla Mcfarlane, who is a valued member of the team at Andrew Balding Racing, has been selected as a finalist. Tyla graduated from the 12-week residential Foundation Course in November 2023, completed her 6-week Work Placement with the team at Andrew Balding and is currently undertaking the Level 2 Equine Groom (Racing) Apprenticeship.
 
Another graduate, who successfully completed the Level 2 Equine Groom (Racing) Apprenticeship through the National Horseracing College has been selected as a finalist in the Rider/Racing Groom Award category is Emma Kettlewell. Since undertaking and completing the Level 2 Apprenticeship, Emma has enjoyed a career as a valuable member of the team at Karl Burke Racing in Middleham.
