It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of retired Jockey, James Banks on Monday 3rd February.
The 36 year old who had rode 85 winners throughout his career, retired from racing in February 2018, after his success as a National Hunt Jockey.
Remembered as having a great sense of humour, James started his Level 1 Diploma in September 2010 at the National Horseracing College and went on to complete his Level 2 apprenticeship in November 2011, during his time at Richard Fahey’s. He was often a great source of camaraderie amongst those around him and was popular amongst his weighing room colleagues.
Our heartfelt thoughts and comfort go to his family and close friends, he will be sadly missed.
