Equine Studies Lecturer (DEC)
Victoria joined the Foundation Course Instructor Team in January 2017 after working in the equine industry for 10 years in various roles. She has since started teaching on the Doncaster Equine College Programme in 2020. During employment, Victoria has taken on several CPD courses including her Assessors qualification and is currently working her way through the BHS stages.
Alongside her work, Victoria completed a level 3 diploma in horse management and then moved on to further education where she completed a BSc honours Degree in Equine Science. Victoria quickly realised that she had a passion for teaching whilst completing her degree as she worked part-time in a teaching laboratory where she was preparing practicals and supported learners within sessions. Victoria then completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education and gained further teaching experience working in an equine college as well as teaching science within secondary education and continuing to work on an international eventing yard on weekends.
Victoria’s most rewarding part of her job is watching the learners graduate after the journey they have made throughout the course. “Seeing the hard work pay off as you watched them collect their certificates knowing that you have made a positive impact on their futures” She loves to see the learners develop their confidence around horses and move on to more challenging tasks. She also enjoys watching the learners thrive as they build positive working relationships and prepare for working in the industry.
