Roving Tutor
Suzy joined the National Horseracing College in September 2022.
Suzy grew up riding ponies and participated in all Pony Club activities, hunting and competitions.
She caught the racing bug when she started riding out for a local trainer at the age of 15. Despite getting run away with, a lot, her enthusiasm remained sky-high.
After finishing A-levels, she went to work for trainer, Henrietta Knight and was lucky enough to go to the Cheltenham Festival with Best Mate when he won his third Gold Cup. She continued her association with the yard whilst undertaking an Animal Science Degree at Reading University.
After graduation, she was drawn immediately back to racing and this time to the Point-to-Point circuit where she rode 30 winners for varying trainers. She combined her efforts in the saddle with running a training and breaking yard.
Injuries forced her to hang up her race-riding boots and embark on a new chapter in her life. Keen to remain in racing, Suzy joined the instructor team at the British Racing School, a post she fulfilled for three years.
Suzy has a thirst for travel and has spent stints working in Australia, America, Qatar and Southern Africa as well as backpacking in South America and India.
